Using Skaldris

Skaldris is a free learning tool for practicing IELTS Writing paraphrasing. It is provided "as is", for personal study, and is not an official IELTS product — it is not affiliated with or endorsed by IELTS, British Council, IDP, or Cambridge Assessment English.

You may use the drills, topic library, and writing guides for your own learning. Don't scrape, republish, or resell the content in bulk, and don't attempt to disrupt the service for other learners.

Your paraphrases

When you submit a paraphrase for evaluation, the text is sent to a third-party language model to generate feedback. Don't submit content that is private, confidential, or that you don't have the right to share.

Your paraphrase is treated as data to be evaluated, not as instructions to the system — the evaluator ignores any embedded commands in your text.

Fair use and rate limits

To keep evaluation available to everyone, requests are rate-limited per IP address and input length is capped. If you're logged in, a daily evaluation cap applies instead. Automated or bulk use of the evaluation endpoint outside normal practice is not permitted.

Accounts

An account is optional — Skaldris can be used fully as a guest. Creating an account (with a username and password, or by signing in with Google) only raises your daily evaluation cap and lets your streak, drill count, and nickname persist across visits. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure, and for any activity under your account.

Choose a nickname that isn't offensive, impersonating, or someone else's identifiable personal information — nicknames may be shown publicly on the leaderboard. We may reset or remove a nickname that violates this.

Leaderboard

The leaderboard is a public, opt-in-by-use feature: practicing while logged in makes your nickname and streak/drill totals visible to anyone who views the page. If you'd rather not appear, don't set a nickname (you'll show as "Anonymous learner") or practice as a guest instead.

No band-score guarantee

Skaldris trains the paraphrasing micro-skill and surrounding topic knowledge — it does not grade full essays or predict official IELTS band scores. Feedback reflects one model's judgment of meaning preservation and lexical/grammatical range, not an examiner's assessment.

Changes

Content, features, and these terms may change as Skaldris develops. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
